Now Hiring: Experienced Sales Consultant
The Village Goldsmith is more than just a jewellery store, we capture stories and craft memories.

We are a design and innovation hub based in Wellington, working with clients all over New Zealand and the world. We care about our local community and the world around us.

The Opportunity: 
We are looking for an experienced sales consultant to join us and work closely with our customers through our unique process of crafting their bespoke piece of jewellery. You will listen to their stories and help them find the perfect piece of jewellery. Or work with our wider team to translate these stories into ideas and sketches which will then be crafted into a piece of exquisite jewellery with genuine meaning. You will assist in the project management of the job from the first consultation through to the final presentation of the piece.  
This role is part time, minimum full day Saturday and Monday, other flexible days and hours. Note: These days on-site only
About you:  
You love sales and you love customers! You enjoy working in a team to ensure the best results. You are a naturally curious person and a problem solver, knowing just the right questions to ask so that our customers leave the store delighted with their purchase, feeling inspired and cared for every step of the way. You love jewellery! 
You will:

Possess creativity that enables our customers to visualise their pieces. This may be through initial design sketches created by you or the wider team, or through demonstrating our jewellery in-store and inspiring our customers!

Have experience selling within the luxury market

Have a warm and engaging communication style that makes the customers feel listened to and understood

Have an energetic and motivated personality

Be experienced in or have a quick learning ability with digital tools such as project workflow software, social media, and email

Be comfortable with managing the administration of projects, both simple and complex

Have the ability to think on your feet

Possess a passion for learning about the jewellery industry to ensure you are able to answer customers' questions and ensure they feel well-informed about the pieces they are purchasing.

About the Role
Are you ready to lead campaigns that captivate and create deeper brand connections? As Marketing Manager, you will guide the strategy and execution of creative campaigns that bring Village Goldsmith’s story to life across every platform. You will help grow our local and global presence, foster an engaged community, and ensure our brand always presents at its very best.
In this role, you will bring together a talented internal team and trusted external collaborators including agencies, freelancers, and partners to deliver work that is visually striking, strategically sound, and culturally relevant. You will be as comfortable shaping the big picture as you are getting hands-on when needed to bring ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Brand Stewardship

Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and plans to support brand growth, sales, and customer engagement goals

Ensure consistency and cohesion of brand voice across all touchpoints, strengthening the brand’s presence and reputation
Campaign Development, Execution and Measurement

Lead impactful multi-channel campaigns (digital, social, in-store, experiential) from concept through to delivery that are aligned with our premium positioning and brand personality

Partner with our internal team, external agencies, freelancers, and creative partners to deliver high-quality content and activations

Ability to track and manage timelines, budgets, and performance metrics and use insights to continuously improve results and return on investment
Website Oversight and Digital Engagement

Manage and update website content and structure to ensure brand alignment and optimal user experience, be familiar with Shopify and e-commerce

Collaborate with developers/designers to implement improvements and maintain high standards for site aesthetics and performance
Digital, Social and Community Engagement Growth

Drive the social media strategy with a focus on growing reach, deepening engagement, and building a connected, loyal community

Oversee the creation of content that is fresh, relevant, and in tune with current trends

Engage with digital marketing platforms and metrics (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, email marketing, SEO)

Grow social communities and engagement through fresh, relevant and creative content
Brand Storytelling and Amplification

Shape and share stories across channels to elevate and differentiate Village Goldsmith’s expertise, innovation and originality
