A collection of New Zealand inspired jewellery, each design featuring a beautiful national emblem.
A Kowhai, Pohutukawa and Paua collection of New Zealand inspired jewellery, each design featuring a beautiful national emblem.
Designed by and exclusive to The Village Goldsmith, the necklace and earring collection use true vitreous enamel (hard fired glass) painstakingly applied by hand to sterling silver. The Vitreous coloured enamel adds a sublime finish to these sterling silver earrings and necklaces.
The collection features a Pohutukawa flower pendant, Pohutukawa flower earrings, a Pohutukawa leaf pendant and Pohutukawa leaf earrings. The Pohutukawa flower can be found on the New Zealand native Pohutukawa tree. The Pohutukawa tree with its crimson red flower, has become an established part of the New Zealand Christmas tradition. This iconic Kiwi tree, has become an important symbol for New Zealanders both at home and abroad.
The collection includes a Kowhai Pendant and Kowhai Flower Earrings. The Kowhai flower can be found on the New Zealand native tree. The Kowhai holds the unofficial status as New Zealand's national flower. The Maori legend recounts that a magic man created the blossoming of the tree in order to convince a girl to marry him.
The collection includes a Paua Shell Necklace and Paua Earrings. Paua are found around the globe, but nowhere else does the Paua shell have the iridescent blues, greens, pinks and deep purples as those found in New Zealand waters. The Paua shell is a true reflection of the spectacular beauty of New Zealand. As the vitreous enamel is applied by hand no two pieces are the same.
The Koru Circle Pendant was inspired by the classic New Zealand symbol - the Koru, meaning “loop” in Maori. It is a contemporary interpretation celebrating the evolution of life and perpetual movement of time.
