The Village Goldsmith is an award-winning jewellery designer store that prides itself on design, innovation and dedication to quality and service. We are delighted to offer a custom jewellery design service.
Due to the New Zealand Government announcement and our fight against COVID-19 our retail store, workshop and office are now closed until further notice.
We will continue to work remotely with you to design custom pieces using our 3D CAD designers and will begin crafting your piece as soon as the lockdown has lifted. READ MORE
Our custom jewellery is crafted in our onsite workshop where you can see our creative jewellers at work, so you are involved in the creation and service of your precious jewellery.
To design and craft a unique piece usually takes between 3-6 weeks in total, however due to the nationwide lockdown, these timelines will be slightly extended until we have returned to work once the lockdown has been lifted. Be sure to let us know if you have a particular date in mind that you require your piece for and we will do our best to meet your timeframe.
We listen to your needs, your dreams, and work with you to deliver a tangible piece of jewellery that not only tells the story of how it came to be and what it represents, but also holds a lifetime of memories as your relationships continue to evolve.
Discuss your design ideas with us in person, via email or Skype. A custom design is truly that - it starts with your unique ideas and vision for your special piece. Our custom ring and jewellery design work is highly regarded and it is recommended that you contact us to make an appointment.
The beauty of custom design is that we can work together on your piece of jewellery to ensure you are completely happy with it. We’ll present you with sketches or models, and with our extensive global network of suppliers, we can offer the best quality and value diamond or gemstone options for your budget. The Village Goldsmith is committed to using only ethically sourced diamonds from trusted and reputable diamond suppliers.
At The Village Goldsmith, we use a combination of the latest technologies and traditional craftsmanship to bring your bespoke jewellery design to life. We test and refine the design in our CAD software and we can then print a 3D scale model in a special polymer using our 3D printing technology to ensure the design is correct in every detail.
Your piece of jewellery is then handcrafted by our experienced and award-winning team of jewellers in our Wellington workshop who take immense pride in their work.
From first hearing your story, to finally seeing something executed by our own hands and in our own workshop, passed on to you, to whom it means so much, is one of the most satisfying feelings in the world.
With the ring in hand, now it’s up to you!
After you have proposed, we’d love for you to pop in store or get in touch to tell us all about it! After all, we love a good love story.
We provide you with a Certificate of Authenticity for all custom jewellery pieces manufactured on site, which includes a 5 year guarantee on the craftsmanship and a lifetime free checking and cleaning service.
At The Village Goldsmith, we work hard to ensure our jewellery is beautifully designed and crafted, as well as being of exceptional quality and value. People often assume that bespoke jewellery is more expensive than off-the-shelf but when you understand how we operate, you will find that is not the case. Read more here about how we can deliver exceptional value for our custom designed jewellery pieces.
Our experienced jewellery designers are always in our Wellington store, and also available to meet in Auckland by appointment only, or anywhere around the world via Skype/email.
