From Christmas Cracker to Family Heirloom, the making of a truly bespoke piece

Maureen, a wonderful client we’ve had the privilege of working with for decades, came to us with a cherished object - a small monocle she uses every day. The holder had been broken for a while so she brought it in to explore how we might give it a new life. She also brought in a broken gold bangle and a diamond solitaire ring, hoping to reuse these pieces in some way. 

After a design session with Ian, our founder and creative director, the magnificent idea of a magnifying glass pendant was born! Ian entrusted the making to one of our master jewellers, Heath, who meticulously handcrafted the handle, mechanism and frame to house the monocle. The diamond was carefully repurposed and secured in a bezel setting into the handle, adding a precious little sparkle.

The finished pendant is far more than a functional piece, it’s a bespoke piece of wearable art, allowing Maureen to continue enjoying her monocle in a beautiful design for years to come 💫
