Jewellery from The Village Goldsmith will last many years if you look after it well. Although our jewellery is made from strong precious metals, it can still be affected by other metals that you come into contact with on a day-to-day basis. Things like weights at the gym or gardening in your backyard can all lead to undue wear and tear on your ring. Here are some tips for jewellery care and cleaning jewellery:
Please be conscious of what you’re doing throughout the day and take your ring off if you think it might have a chance of getting damaged.
We know that jewellery can get a bit dirty. Hand lotions, hair products and everyday grime can leave your jewellery looking dulled and tarnished. Your diamond will also start to look dull if dirt builds up on the back of your diamond because light will no longer be able to pass through.
Even though diamonds are the hardest substance known to man, we don’t recommend you use harsh abrasive cleaners.
Cleaning Jewellery
We suggest you clean your jewellery by following these steps:
Fill a small bowl with warm water and add a little dishwashing liquid. Remove your ring and place it in the bowl.
Use a soft brush to remove the dirt. Do not use a harsh brush as it may scratch the platinum or gold.
We recommend that all jewellery should be checked and cleaned professionally often. For rings worn on a regular basis we recommend you do this at least once a year.
