The Arapawa pendant is a symbol of the finest gemstones to come out of Australasia. The centre piece is a round paua pearl, cultured in the abalone that is only found in such colours in the waters of New Zealand.
The eight small round diamonds are Argyle pinks from Australia, and are amongst the rarest in the world. These are highlighted between the eight D colour VVS-IF pear cut diamonds. The pendant is crafted in 18ct yellow gold and platinum.
The design reflects ancient Māori symbolism, Māori being the indigenous people of New Zealand, and this pattern work was evolved in a manner that reflects that culture but brings it together in a classically styled piece that can fit any culture.
Pendant includes a 50cm 18ct yellow gold franco chain.

“I cannot recommend this small independent Wellington business highly enough. I have purchased three rings from them since discovering their jewellery on a visit to New Zealand in 2012 and love their contemporary design and style. On my last visit from Scotland, I had the pleasure of meeting Ian Douglas and listening to him talk about where he gets the inspiration for his designs was just wonderful. Quite simply, the quality of workmanship, attention to detail and customer service at The Village Goldsmith are second to none. If I could give them a higher rating I would.” - Sandra Inglis
