Christine Douglas of the Inspired Collection, Wellington has been announced the winner of the Gemological Institute of America’s 2011 George A. Schuetz Men's Design Contest. The annual competition is open to jewellers the world over and is judged by an independent GIA-selected panel of industry experts who evaluate each submission on overall design, wearability, feasibility and appeal. "I'm part of an amazing creative team, and we all contribute ideas and suggestions to create our jewellery. To see my concept of our Vinko ring inlaid with baguette diamonds gain first place in such a prestigious competition is extremely exciting." It is the second such success for The Inspired Collection with Karl Williams being awarded first place in the 2010 awards with his platinum, yellow gold and diamond men's ring.Third place for this years competition was also awarded to The Inspired Collections Chris Benham for his White Gold Men's Money Clip design.
The 18ct White Gold Men's ring features two 0.07ct round brilliant cut diamonds and twenty straight baguettes totaling 1.05cts.
